Vitamin Angels helps at-risk populations in need – specifically pregnant women, new mothers, and children under five – gain access to lifesaving and life changing vitamins and minerals. We think this video explains it best...
Of all the worthy causes out there that we care about, why did we choose to support Vitamin Angels?
Vitamin Angels have had impressive results in the past few years. In 2017, they reached 61+ million children and mothers across 59 countries with vitamin A, deworming tablets, prenatal vitamins and education.
We wanted to make sure our donations are reaching the people who need them. Vitamin Angels have minimal admin costs, so at least 90% of their expenses go directly to bringing vitamins to those most in need worldwide. Any admin costs on the ground are absorbed by their local partners.
We're not a huge corporation with millions to donate, so we wanted to make sure the money we are able to give actually makes a difference. Vitamin Angels are very efficient at getting the nutrients where they're needed, so we know our donations will go a long way.
Vitamin Angels are transparent about where they spend their money and their financials are available to see on their website. They've also been awarded the top rating by Charity Navigator and the Platinum Seal of Transparency by GuideStar.
Vitamin A is something we take for granted, particularing in developed countries.
Vegan or not, it's easy to get it as part of our diet. However, this isn't always the case in developing nations.
Poverty and malnutrition often means that children are deficient in vitamin A, resulting in stunted growth, a weakened immune system and possible blindness to name a few.
A high-dose vitamin A supplement is a quick and effective way of providing this life-saving nutrient.
The Vitamin Angels website is packed with information about the great work they do. You can also make a donation from their website if you wish to do so.
