plant-based supplements for the long game.

we make plant-derived supplements that support the mind and body through the pressures of modern life, rooted in modern science and a natural approach to wellness.

we're here for people who want to be in good health both today, and in the decades to come.

the gap

the world has changed. our biology hasn't.

The gap crept up on everyone. Work moved under a roof, then screens arrived, and the walk that used to be part of the day turned into something you have to schedule. Daylight is something we admire through a window.

Food changed too. Farming had to feed a lot more people, and the practices that made that possible have taken something out of the soil along the way. A carrot is still a carrot... it's just not carrying quite what it used to.

Then there's time. Plenty of us know exactly what we should be eating and still end up with whatever's quick, because stressful lives don't always leave the room. Some of us eat differently on purpose, too, for ethical, cultural or health reasons.

Put it all together and small gaps open up. Nothing dramatic, but the kind that take years to show, by which point the body is a little further from where you wanted it to be. Our supplements are designed to sit in that gap: plant-derived micronutrients that top up what modern diets and modern lives leave short.

who we're for

for people who look after themselves on purpose.

Our customers act before there's a crisis. They understand that small healthy habits today are the foundation that lets them live the life they want tomorrow.

Some read every label and know exactly which form of vitamin B12 they want. Others have no time for that, so they find people they trust and ask them. Both are research, and both are welcome here.

They want the supplement that fits the life they're already living: cooking more, drinking less, walking further, doing the research. They hold their values close, but have never once lectured anyone at a dinner party about them.

Wellbeing is an important part of their life, but not their entire identity. They understand that life is about wonderful experiences with the people they care about, and they want to stay well enough through all of it. And a note we think matters: plant-based is what we make, not what we ask anyone to be. Our customers are vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian and more. Nobody has to become something to be welcome here.

our promise to you

the standards we set ourselves.

Some companies call these their values. We prefer to think of them as a promise.

always plant-based
Why.

There are good reasons not to put animals by-products into a supplement. Overfishing is straining oceans already under pressure, and a switch as simple as taking omega-3 from algae or collagen from plants removes a whole link in that chain.

What we have done.

Every product is 100% vegan with no hidden animal by-products. We check every last ingredient, and we are registered with The Vegan Society.

How we can improve.

We keep looking for plant-based alternatives to ingredients that are traditionally animal-sourced. There are plenty we have not cracked yet.

environmentally conscious
Why.

Honestly, our lives would be easier if we were not environmentally conscious. But we would not have it any other way. We feel connected to this planet, and we would rather carry the cost than pretend it is not there.

What we have done.

We are not perfect, but weighing environmental impact into every decision has taken us somewhere. Plastic only where it is genuinely necessary, chosen for recyclability and carbon footprint. Postage materials that are Forestry Commission certified and responsibly sourced. We ran fully plastic-free pouches for a while, and we are working to get back there.

How we can improve.

We want to get as close to zero plastic as is physically possible, and we are still testing alternatives to get there.

guided by science, designed by experts
Why.

Finding good ingredients is only part of making a good supplement. The rest is form, dose, combination and everything the label has no room for.

What we have done.

Our formulations are built by experienced professionals who know which combinations work, how to balance the amounts, and how to read the research that should drive the next product. We use nutrients in their most effective forms, as close as possible to how they occur in nature.

How we can improve.

More writing, and better writing, about what the research actually says, so nobody has to take our word for anything. We are also looking at formats that absorb better and are easier to stay consistent with.

safe for your family
Why.

We take these every day. So do our parents, and so do our partners and children. We have never been willing to take a risk with our families, which settles the question of whether we would take one with anyone else's.

What we have done.

Everything is made in facilities meeting the highest global manufacturing standards. Every batch is tested for quality and purity.

How we can improve.

We want to be more transparent about ingredients and processes than we currently are. What usually stops us is a contract with a manufacturer rather than anything we would choose.

the 100-day happiness guarantee
Why.

We understand that many new customers are finding us for the first time and it can feel risky trusting a brand they've never heard of.

What we have done.

Every order placed directly with us carries a 100-day happiness guarantee. If it is not right, email us, send back what is left, and we will refund it. No forms and no interrogation.

How we can improve.

The best version of this guarantee is the one nobody needs to use, so every claim gets read and goes back into the formulation and the copy.

use profits responsibly
Why.

We would like to give back more than we take. That has to show up in where the money goes, or it is just a sentence.

What we have done.

We have worked with Vitamin Angels since the beginning, helping provide life-changing vitamins to children and mothers who would not otherwise receive them.

How we can improve.

Our goal is to support at least 1,000 children every month, and as we grow we would like to fund environmental work alongside it.

built to work together, not just alone
Why.

Health isn't one lever. Sleep, focus, recovery, structure and daily foundations all pull on each other, and a single supplement only ever covers part of the picture.

What we have done.

Our products are micronutrient formulations made from plants (vitamins, minerals, amino acids, adaptogens, fatty acids and fibres), sourced globally and developed for safety, efficacy and bioavailability. Some are everyday foundations the body needs daily; some are targeted to one thing, like sleep, mood, focus, recovery or skin; some bridge both.

How we can improve.

We're always working on how the range fits together, so it adds up to a considered picture rather than a shelf of unrelated bottles.

2017

it started with a question about omega-3.

In 2017, our co-founder Kev was reading about omega-3 and how much the body depends on it. He is a lifelong vegetarian and had never eaten fish, and the question landed uncomfortably: was this something he had been missing his entire life? What would the impact be later in life? The plant sources on offer, flaxseed and the rest, simply were not the same thing.

Then he found the fact that started the company.

fish don't make omega-3. the algae they eat does.

Fish are the middleman. A certain type of marine algae, found in coastal environments, produce the omega-3 in the first place, and the fish accumulate it by eating them. Algae can be grown in closed tanks on land, which means omega-3 with no fishing, no heavy metals, no ocean contaminants and no aftertaste. With global demand climbing, it also takes pressure off oceans, wildlife and the coastal communities that depend on them.

Kev took it to his oldest friends, brothers Shameek and Shaunak. Shameek is a sailor and open-water swimmer, and the case for leaving the oceans alone did not need making twice. Shaunak wanted to build a business that was worth building. All three were in their thirties, starting families, and had each been quietly disappointed by supplements at some point. So omvits began.

Everything since has followed the same logic as the algae. Find the gaps, go to the natural source and help people understand what it can and cannot do.

The name, since people ask: ōm, the ancient syllable carrying peace, resonance and grounding, and vits for the vitality we are all after. We still think it is a pretty good name.

a letter from the three of us

We started this in 2017, in our early thirties, before any of us had properly felt what we now make supplements for.

Back then the argument was simple. Kev could not take fish oil, found out that the original source is plant-based, and the three of us thought that was too good a fact to leave alone. We were not trying to build a wellness brand. We were trying to make one supplement we would actually be willing to take.

Nine years on, we are in our forties. Between us there are young kids, ageing parents, and bodies that have started sending reminders that they need some extra support. Sleep that does not repair the way it used to. Brain fog in the middle of the day. Recovery that takes the week rather than the night.

We want the same things many of you do: good years, spent well, with the people we love and the energy to enjoy them. We take our own products every day, our families do too, and everything we have learned about what supplements can and cannot do, we learned by being wrong about it first.

We've come to see looking after your health as a quiet kind of responsibility, to yourself and to the people relying on you. It took us a while to properly learn that.

Thank you for being here. Genuinely. If we have got something wrong, hello@omvits.com reaches all three of us.

the three of us

real moments, from before this was a brand.

Shameek and Shaunak are brothers. Kev and Shameek have been best friends since the first day of school. The three of us have travelled together, run marathons and triathlons together, and are now navigating our forties and parenthood alongside each other. Long before any of it was a company, it was this.

A lifelong fascination with sharks and marine wildlife took Kev to Western Australia and a dream he had held since childhood. Seeing what large-scale industrial fishing does up close, he came home certain there had to be a better way.

More than a decade of sailing has made the sea the place Shameek goes to think. Our health and the ocean's health are tied together with every breath we take, and protecting that is what drives him.

The Inca Trail brought together everything Shaunak cares about: landscape, fitness, and people. The Andes taught him what staying active is worth, and the communities he met along the way still shape how he thinks about giving back.

nine years, plainly counted.

Nine years is not long in an industry fond of round-number anniversaries, so here is the plain version instead: what it actually adds up to, and nothing we cannot stand behind.

honest limits

supplements matter, but they're not the whole story.

Supplements are a meaningful part of looking after ourselves.

But, they are not the goal, and they were never going to be. Sleep, food, movement and the people around us carry more than any capsule ever will. What we make is designed to sit alongside those things, topping up what modern diets and modern lifestyles leave short.

what we will not do

No quick fixes. No anti-ageing promises. Nothing that claims to turn a clock back.

Most of this category is selling a way back. Back to twenty-five-year-old skin. Back to pre-baby sleep. Back to the energy of one specific summer. We are not, and it is not because the past was not lovely. The body of ten years ago lived in a different world. We are more interested in the version still arriving. Slightly stiffer. Slightly wiser. Looking forward, rather than back.

on timelines

Different nutrients work on different schedules. Some shift things within hours. Some work over days. Collagen peptides work over weeks and months. Omega-3 works structurally, quietly, for years. We will never falsely promise a feeling on a deadline.

There is a second truth alongside the physiological one. The difference our customers describe most often is not a sensation, but the quiet peace-of-mind that comes from using supplements made by people who truly care.

the planet

kind to you. kind to the planet. honest about the gap.

The health of the planet is something that is very close to our hearts.

For a while our pouches were completely plastic free. We had spent a long time finding them, we were pleased with ourselves about it, and customers noticed. Then the company that made them went into administration, and nobody else could do the same thing that would protect our supplements properly.

we would rather tell you we lost something than let you assume we still have it.

What we do instead is the next honest thing. As little material as the product can safely travel in, recycling where recycling actually exists rather than where it sounds good, and refills where they work.

If a supplier can do properly plastic free at our volume again, we will go back to it. We are still asking around.

giving back

help us stop malnutrition from the start.

Malnutrition is the leading cause of preventable child deaths. It does not need to be. Through our charity partner Vitamin Angels, we have helped provide life-changing vitamins to over 50,000 children around the world. Our goal is to support at least 1,000 children every month.

None of that is us. It is what happens when people choose one supplement over another, and we would rather they knew that.

questions

the things people actually ask us.

The questions people ask before they trust a company they've only just found.

why should I trust a brand I've never heard of?

Fair question. It's most of the reason we wrote this page. We're three friends who started omvits in 2017 because we couldn't find supplements we actually wanted to take, and we still take them ourselves. If you'd rather not take our word for it, every order has a 100-day guarantee, and there are more than 1,900 reviews on Judge.me.

how do I know it's working if I can't feel anything?

Honestly? In most cases, you won't. Micronutrients aren't painkillers, so the real measure is a blood test, not a feeling. And that matters more than it sounds, because some deficiencies build quietly for years with no symptoms at all, and by the time they show up the damage can be permanent. We're not trying to scare you, it's just how deficiency works. It's also why most of our customers talk about peace of mind rather than a result: they like knowing they're doing right by their body. If you want to actually check, your GP can run the test.

why is it more expensive than the one in the supermarket?

Sometimes we are, sometimes we're not. A lot of the supplements you see advertised in the papers are made in bulk and bought off the shelf. We formulate ours from scratch and pay for the better ingredient where it actually changes things, like lichen D3 instead of the cheaper D2, or methylcobalamin instead of cheaper cyanocobalamin in our B12. We'd sooner explain a price than quietly discount it. And we do get that cost matters, which is why there's a loyalty programme that rewards you for sticking with us.

is it genuinely plant-based and clean, or is that just marketing?

Genuinely, and all the way through. Every product is registered with The Vegan Society, which means the capsule, the carriers and the coatings get checked too, not just the headline ingredient. That's the bit people tell us they could never find elsewhere: D3 from lichen instead of lanolin, omega-3 from algae instead of fish. As for clean, everything on the label earns its place. No proprietary blends, nothing hidden, and if there's a bulking agent it's named as one. The full list is on every product page.

how sustainable are you, really?

We're still learning, honestly, and we'll own where we fall short. When we started we were pretty naive about it. We assumed plastic-free was always greener, then learned it's not that simple: some things that look sustainable aren't, and not all plastics are the same. For a while our pouches were fully plastic-free, until the maker went into administration and no one could match it at our volume. So for now it's as little packaging as the product can safely travel in, recycling where it actually exists rather than where it just sounds good, and refills where they make sense. We keep asking people who know more than we do, and making the best call we can with what we learn. The ingredients matter too. Skipping the fish and going straight to algae is far more sustainable than fish oil. Building plant-based peptides using upcycled materials in a zero water waste facility is far more sustainable than bovine collagen made from cow hides.

who actually makes it, and how do I know it's safe?

Manufacturers who meet the highest global standards, in GMP and BRC certified facilities, and who make for brands you'd know by name. Every batch gets tested for quality and purity. We take these ourselves, our families take them, and that's the bar everything has to clear. We can't always publish the certificates (the contracts won't let us), but ask us something specific and we'll tell you whatever we're allowed to.
